"Family"
Septemeber was a busy month at CTEC! We hope that you have enjoyed looking at the children's photos posted on the bulletin boards. Special thanks to Roberta MacNeil for talking to us about fitness and sharing some exercises. Another special 'thank you' to Dr. Tim Lynch and his assistant, Ethan, for talking to us about being a doctor and showing us how to make a cast. Finally, we would like to thank Future Shop for donating our new classroom CD player.
Our curriculum this month will continue to focus on "It's All About Me" and extend into "Family". Some exciting family curriculum plans include a scrapbooking project, babies visiting, drawing a picture of self / family and drama presentations of Goldilocks and the Three Bears and the Three Little Pigs. The children have asked to make apple crisp after we go on the Apple Land trip. We will also be setting up a fall fruit and vegetable market and having a Harvest Party later in the month.
Our Kindergarten novel study will be about a rabbit and his family, Peter Rabbit, by Beatrix Potter.
O Canada at the JLC, October 15th (6:00 PM)
Children wihsing to participate who are over 4 years old must have a ticket to the hockey game. Tickets are $15 each, with a portion going directly to CTEC. Please reserve yours ASAP as quantities are limited!
Scholsastic Book Fair, October 17th - 21st
Reading excitement is sure to snowball with our coolest book fair yet! So dress warm & get ready to chill out with a cool book! Stop by the large classroom in the front of the music school (Baby / prep. / group class) between 4:00 - 7:30 PM Tuesday - Friday, or Saturday morning 9:00 - noon and enter to win free books! Our school receives up to 60% of Book Fair processeds, which are used to purchase supplies for our classrooms and studios.
