The Children’s Talent Education Centre Board of Directors invites you to participate in our Progressive Fundraising program. This involves no door to door sales, no buying of fundraising merchandise or collecting cans and bottles. It does not cost you a cent to support your organization. You can shop for what you want, where and when you want.
All we require is that you plan ahead and purchase gift certificates for your favorite retail stores before you shop.
Participating retailers include:
Loblaws - Fo Frills - Real Canadian Superstore - Sears – The Bay – Home Depot – Zellers – Home Outfitters – Rona - Esso – Petro Canada – Canadian Tire - Chapters – Future Shop – Staples – The Gap – Old Navy- Shoppers Drug Mart – Toys ‘R’ Us – Payless Shoes – Blockbuster – Swiss Chalet – The Keg – Eastside Marios…
How does it work?
How will it help CTEC?
Progressive Fundraising purchases gift certificates from large retail stores in bulk, at a discounted price. CTEC sells the gift certificates at face value to their supporters and collects the difference. If 100 families can purchase $50 per week on all household purchases from participating retailers simply by planning ahead and purchasing gift cards, the Children’s Talent Education Centre can raise $10,000 this school year. All funds raised will be used to support the wonderful music and preschool programming offered at CTEC.
Sincere thanks in anticipation of your support – let’s get started!
Membership
Membership fees are paid once each year by all members to maintain the status of a non-profit organization and to assist in the ongoing administration of the school. A $50 Annual Membership fee is payable and dated at the time of registration, and is non-refundable.
Fundraising
Fees paid by parents for lessons and classes do not fully cover the costs of providing the rich environment we enjoy at CTEC. The quality of equipment, furniture and workspace is the result of many years of ongoing fundraising efforts. Fundraising also assists in teacher development, special events for CTEC families, and annual workshops. There are various events & fundraising activities organized throughout the year. Look for posters and communications in the Newsletter and on this web site for details.
Volunteers Needed
CTEC welcomes volunteers from the community and from our students and parents. For information on how you can help with our fundraising initiatives, please contact Karen Try at the school by calling 679-2725.
Birthday Book Program
We are inviting all CTEC Preschool & Kindergarten children to share their birthdays by donating a hardcover or soft cover literature book to their classroom library! The birthday child may bring a book (wrapped in birthday paper if you wish) that he or she would like to share with the class. The book will become a permanent part of our classroom library. You may choose to include an individualized bookplate with your child's photo and / or name on the inside front cover.
Some suggested authors: Leo Lionni, Eric Carle, Tomie dePaolo, Ezra Jack Keats, Jan Brett, Gail Gibbons, Fairy Tales & Nursery Rhymes. No commercial books please!
"Labels for Education"
Campbell's Labels for Education™ is a school support program whereby registered schools collect labels from Campbell's products and redeem them for educational resources ranging from musical instruments and sports equipment to video equipment and computers. Please encourage family and friends to collect labels from eligible Campbell's products and help CTEC earn free educational equipment. What a soup-er idea!
Save-A-Tape Fundraising Campaign (A&P)
Here's an easy way to help rasie funds. Drop off your grocery receipts from the A&P family of stores & A&P will donate a percentage of the total of the receipts collected to the Children's Talent Education Centre. Every penny counts!
