Ages 2.5 - 5 Years Old

We provide a family-like atmosphere where the full learning potential of each child can be developed. Hours of operation are 7:30 - 5:30, Monday to Friday, except statutory holidays.  Full day programs (2 days, 3 days or 5 days) are available for 10 months with a special summer program called "Preschool Summertime Fun" offered during July and August.  The CTEC preschool and kindergarten is liscensed under the Day Nursery Act of the Ministry of Community and Social Services for the Province of Ontario.

Daily program plans based on short and long term themes are prepared so that children experience a variety of different materials in the activity centres.  A project may take days, weeks or months but will integrate language, music, math, science and art.  Ongoing documentation and careful observation of the   children allows teachers to develop individual children's interests and strengths.  CTEC welcomes the involvement of parents and throughout the year there are many special occasions to which parents are invited.

What is the difference between "Daycare", "Nursery School", and "Preschool"?

• Daycare centres are generally for the purpose of caring for children on an all day basis.
• Nursery Schools provide experiences in socialization and play. 
• Preschools are oriented toward education experiences which utilize both socialization and play in a caring atmosphere.

CTEC's Preschool Program will offer extended hours for families requiring them.
